Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is transmitted directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical information about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Rusk County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of case records or personal court data. It identifies official routes such as WCCA and the Rusk County Clerk of Circuit Court. WCCA provides public case information rather than general public document images, and records protected, sealed, or made confidential under Wis. Stat. §§801.19 through 801.21 may be redacted or withheld. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there falls under the provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider determines its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Rusk clerk, Wisconsin courts, WCCA, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider’s systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed only to limited recipients such as:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so the absence of a breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Wisconsin and federal privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights concerning personal data. Wisconsin Open Records Law, Wis. Stat. §19.35, governs requests to public authorities and does not turn this private resource into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. An updated version will be posted here and will carry a new effective date.
